Rebekah Wostrel creates functional ceramics and intimate sculptural forms of porcelain, angora and metals. She holds an MFA in Ceramics from Pennsylvania State University and a BA in Anthropology from Smith College. She has been honored with many awards, including a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grant and a Fulbright fellowship to study ritual terra cotta in Java and Bali. Wostrel has taught courses at Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the world. She now works in her studio at the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, and teaches Drawing, Sculpture and Design Fundamentals at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
